YMCA Launches Free Health and Wellness Programs in Allentown

The River Crossing YMCA has announced its Winter 2025 Pathway health and wellness programs to be held across Bucks, Lehigh, and Hunterdon counties. These programs will be offered free of charge to community members, who do not need to be members of the YMCA to participate.

According to their official announcement, the Pathway programs are supported by generous donors and aim to provide necessary health and wellness support to individuals with shared health concerns. Benefits include transitional membership, personal training, and guided support.

Veterans Wellness Pathway Program

The YMCA in Allentown will continue its Veterans Wellness Pathway program, which has seen significant success. The past Fall 2024 program graduated 10 veterans and their partners in November.

This program is a free 12-week initiative targeting active and retired members of the US Armed Forces and their families. Those who complete the program receive a complimentary family membership and an additional six-month membership to encourage the ongoing practice of the skills acquired.

Healthy Lifestyles Pathway Program

Joining the veterans’ initiative is the Healthy Lifestyles Pathway program, debuting in January at the Allentown branch. This program is free and helps adults notified by a healthcare provider of their risk for Type 2 diabetes.

The program emphasizes lifestyle changes through improved nutrition, increased physical activity, and community connection, alongside a 12-week family membership at the Y.

Community Commitment

River Crossing YMCA, previously known as the YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties, is a non-profit committed to enriching community life. It serves over 142,000 members through its numerous branches and programs each year.

The YMCA is offering the registration for programs starting January 13. Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up early.
