As president & CEO of Lee Health, I witness daily the dedication and contributions of our teams to the community. Lee Health stands as one of Florida’s largest nonprofit hospital systems, employing over 16,000 people and serving as a major healthcare destination in Southwest Florida.
Economic Contributions
Our leadership team recently commissioned an economic impact report to quantify our contributions to the local and regional economy. This report highlights our role in job creation, income generation, and business growth. The full report is available on our website, LeeHealth.org.
Future Investments
Lee Health plans to invest over $1.5 billion in building and upgrading facilities by 2028, creating 6,536 new jobs and injecting nearly $1.3 billion into the local economy. Our ongoing operations support more than 30,000 jobs annually, contributing $4.9 billion in sales to the Lee County economy.
Multiplier Effect
The report details the direct, indirect, and induced impacts of Lee Health, showing that our investments and operations create a “multiplier effect” that keeps money circulating in the local economy, fostering more jobs and earnings.
Commitment to Community
Lee Health has been committed to the health and well-being of our community for nearly 108 years. The report underscores the additional value Lee Health brings to the economic health of our community.
