What is the Community Wellness Festival at CHLA?

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Hosts Community Wellness Festival

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles invites local community members to its second annual Community Wellness Festival on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 1300 Virgil Place.

The event will feature interactive family-friendly activities, wellness information and resources, food and school supplies, live entertainment, and meet-and-greet sessions with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ therapy dogs.

The hospital staff will be joined by community organizations and local leaders including Los Angeles City Councilman Hugo Soto Martinez, 13th District, AltaMed community health network, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, and Inner City Arts.

CHLA experts will staff health and wellness booths on injury prevention, the Pet Therapy Program, Division of Young Adult and Adolescent Medicine, nutrition and lactation, the Literally Healing reading program, Southern California Center for Latino Health, Community CPR, emergency preparedness, first aid, and Stop the Bleed, home safety, and medication safety. A limited amount of school supplies will be available.
