Wellhub Expands European Presence with Acquisition of Fitprime

Corporate wellness giant Wellhub, formerly known as Gympass, has made a strategic move by acquiring Fitprime, a Rome-based company known for its fitness, nutrition, and mental health wellness services for over 200 corporate clients. This deal significantly enhances Wellhub’s presence in Europe at a time when the corporate wellness market is projected to grow rapidly, reaching a value of $104.82 billion by 2030.

According to Wellhub CEO Cesar Carvalho, ‘We are delighted to welcome Fitprime to the Wellhub team. This union represents a significant expansion of our presence in Europe and strengthens our commitment to providing the best wellbeing benefit plans to companies around the world.’ He emphasized that Fitprime’s established network and expertise in the Italian market will be invaluable.

The acquisition comes as Wellhub celebrates reaching three million employees in its network, reaffirming its position as a leader in the corporate wellness space. Recently, the company has also partnered with notable brands like Zumba and Nike Studios to enhance its offerings.

Fitprime co-founder and CEO Matteo Musa expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, ‘Wellhub’s global resources and expertise will enable us to enhance our offerings and provide even more value to our clients.’ This move is expected to solidify Fitprime’s leadership in the wellness market within Italy and beyond.

As corporate wellness programs become increasingly essential for employee satisfaction, Wellhub aims to leverage this acquisition to drive productivity and engagement within participating companies, ultimately reducing absenteeism rates.
