
Upcoming Fitness Classes at W&M: Get Fit with Barre and Pilates
The College of William & Mary is set to host two exciting fitness classes on December 12, 2024, at the Bee McLeod Recreation Center, offering students a chance to engage in effective and dynamic workouts.
Barre Workout
Scheduled from 4:15 PM to 5:05 PM, the Barre workout combines techniques from Yoga, Pilates, and Dance. This class emphasizes core strength and total body conditioning, allowing participants to strengthen and lengthen their muscles to the rhythm of the music.
- Registration: An active FitWell Membership is required, and classes are free for full-time students.
- Registration opens 48 hours in advance. Students can sign up through the W&M Wellness app or online at wellness.wm.edu.

Pilates Class
This mat-based workout focuses on improving posture, flexibility, strength, and body awareness. The Pilates class will take place from 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM in the McLeod Studio at the recreation center.
During this class, participants will integrate body and mind, concentrating on core areas: abs, glutes, hips, and lower back. Registration for this class also opens 48 hours in advance.
- Participants are encouraged to pre-register online or through the W&M Wellness app.
- Make sure to bring a water bottle and hand towel to the session.
This class is also sponsored by Campus Recreation.
