Trump’s Pentagon Healthcare Pick Faces Scrutiny Due to Past Issues

Keith Bass, President-elect Trump’s choice to lead the Pentagon’s healthcare systems, finds himself in hot water following his termination from the CIA in 2021.

Bass was reportedly ‘pushed out’ of his role as head of the CIA’s Office of Medical Services due to poor management performance. According to two authoritative sources who spoke to SpyTalk, the decision was influenced by the agency’s mismanagement of ‘Havana Syndrome,’ a puzzling condition officially termed Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI). One source familiar with the events stated, ‘He was removed by CIA Director Bill Burns, not for misconduct, but because OMS was being poorly run, and AHI just flushed it out.’

The Senate Intelligence Committee recently released a bipartisan report that criticized the CIA’s response to AHI, which has affected numerous CIA, State Department, and other government personnel and their families, primarily overseas. The initial cases were reported by officers in Havana back in 2016.

The report highlighted various failings, noting, ‘Many individuals faced obstacles to timely and sufficient care.’ Additionally, it was indicated that Bass ‘offloaded’ the responsibilities for managing AHI to his deputies, further exacerbating the issue.
