Thai soldiers rescued a Chinese man trapped in a well near the Thai-Myanmar border for three days. The operation took place on Sunday when soldiers from the 433rd Company, Task Force Ratchamanu, were patrolling the area to enforce strict measures against illegal entry and drug smuggling.
While on patrol, the soldiers heard faint cries coming from the forest near Ban Wang Takhian, Village No 7, Tha Sai Luat subdistrict. Investigating the sounds, they stumbled upon a 10-metre-deep well where a Chinese national was trapped, crying for help in Chinese.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had been stuck in the well for three days. He expressed gratitude to the soldiers and the local rescue team through an interpreter, stating he would not have survived without their timely intervention.
During the rescue operation, the soldiers used flashlights to assess the situation and determine the best method for extraction. The mission highlighted the effectiveness and quick response of the Thai military in emergency situations, emphasizing their role in community safety and support.
The man was evaluated for his condition upon rescue and received appropriate medical attention, while the soldiers verified safety measures along the porous border area to reassure local residents of their commitment to security and humanitarian efforts.
