CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The 52nd annual Summerville Family YMCA Flowertown Festival is set to attract thousands of visitors this weekend. Taking place in historic downtown Summerville, the festival will feature a lively atmosphere filled with vendors and local artisans.
As the biggest fundraiser for the local YMCA, the festival’s proceeds will support various health and wellness programs, including initiatives that allow children to engage in recreational sports and access family memberships.
The roots of the festival date back to 1973 when a small group of women organized a modest arts and crafts event to raise funds for the original YMCA. This tradition has since blossomed into a vibrant annual celebration.
