The new year is fast approaching, and many are seeking ways to enhance their health. Whether it is increasing physical activity, improving diet, enhancing sleep quality, or managing everyday stresses, the new year provides a wonderful opportunity to embrace healthier habits.

In response to these aspirations, the University of Illinois Extension is hosting the Healthy Living Webinar Series throughout January. These webinars, scheduled for January 9, 16, and 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., aim to equip participants with the necessary skills to achieve their health improvement goals.

The Weight Equation: An Introduction to Weight Management – January 9

This session will delve into the myriad factors influencing weight management, emphasizing the significance of overall lifestyle choices over mere diet. Topics will cover reasons for weight gain, methods of assessing body weight, and effective tips for sustainable weight loss.

Understanding Emotional Eating: How Stress Impacts Hunger & Appetite – January 16

Many people tend to eat for reasons beyond physical hunger—stress and emotions play crucial roles in our eating habits. This webinar aims to help participants recognize emotional eating triggers and develop strategies for healthier eating patterns.

Move More for Better Health – January 23

Participants will learn the important distinction between physical activity and structured exercise, including recommendations for integrating more movement into daily life for better health outcomes.
