Severe Weather Warning Issued for Upper Thailand
The Thai Meteorological Department has alerted residents of upper Thailand to prepare for variable weather conditions from Sunday, March 16, through Thursday, March 20. A rather strong high-pressure system from China is expected to move into the region, leading to significant changes in weather.
Forecasted Conditions
During this period, citizens can expect hot to very hot days, with the possibility of summer storms. These storms may bring gusty winds, hail, and lightning strikes in various areas of upper Thailand, particularly in the early part of the forecasted period.
From Monday to Thursday, temperatures in the Northeast region are expected to drop by 5-8°C, while other regions may see a decrease of 2-4°C. Residents are advised to stay vigilant and be mindful of severe weather conditions.

Central: Nakhon Sawan, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Bangkok. - Monday:
North: Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Kamphaeng Phet, Sukhothai, Tak.
Central: Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Bangkok.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat.

Marine Conditions and Safety Precautions
The Meteorological Department warns that the easterly and southeasterly winds over the Gulf region and the Andaman Sea will strengthen from Monday to Thursday, bringing increased rainfall and isolated heavy rains to the South. Waves in the lower Gulf are expected to rise to 2-3 meters and may exceed 3 meters in areas experiencing thundershowers.
All vessels operating in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should take extra precautions and avoid thundershowers. Small boats are advised to remain ashore during this period to ensure safety.
