Resource Center Health Expands to New Location in Dallas
The Resource Center has officially opened its doors in a new location at 2603 Inwood Road, right next to the recently opened Oak Lawn Place, which provides affordable housing for seniors.
This new facility signifies an evolving commitment to community wellness as it consolidates various health services. It will integrate programs previously offered at the Nelson-Tebedo Clinic on Cedar Springs Road and the services from the Harold Simmons Foundation Health Campus located at 2701 Reagan Street.
Comprehensive Health Services Offered
The Resource Center aims to provide a wide array of health services, including:
- Primary Health Care: Comprehensive medical services to ensure the community has access to essential care.
- Mental Health Counseling: In-person and telehealth counseling provided by a culturally sensitive staff.
- Sexual Health Services: STI testing, treatment, and PrEP care.
- Food Pantry: Addressing food insecurity within the community.
- Hot Meals Program: Providing nutritious meals to those in need.
- Pharmacy: Conveniently located for easy access to prescriptions.
- Ryan White-funded services: Including case management and medical care.
- And More: A holistic approach to health and wellness is prioritized at the new center.
As emphasized by David Taffet, a spokesperson for the organization, this new establishment is set to enhance the well-being of community members through the comprehensive services it offers.
Service Closures and Future Plans
As part of the transition, the Cedar Springs Road location has been closed, and the property for the Simmons Health Campus is now up for sale. The Resource Center is committed to maintaining high standards of care while adapting to the needs of the community it serves.
