(Blackwood, NJ) – In a pioneering initiative, the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, along with healthcare partners, is offering free vaccinations for uninsured children and those with only Medicaid Part A at various schools and community centers throughout the summer. This effort aims to remove barriers for children to attend school.
What Vaccinations Are Available?
Children can receive the following required vaccinations:
- Ages 4 to 6: DTap, polio, and MMR vaccines
- Ages 11 and 12: Tdap and meningococcal vaccines
- Age 16: Meningococcal vaccines
Why Are These Vaccinations Important?
“These vaccines are essential for public safety and to ensure 100% classroom attendance,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge. “We aim to eliminate insurance as a barrier for the health and wellness of our children.”
Additional Support
At the vaccination drives, children can also speak with representatives from the Osbourne Family Health Center for insurance applications. The Health Department is making appointments for families to catch up on all required vaccines.
