Panic Eases at Central Ladprao Following Earthquake Reports
On Saturday, Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) issued a statement to clarify confusion circulating on social media regarding the situation at Central Ladprao shopping mall. Reports indicated that customers were seen evacuating the premises in panic due to an 8.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday.
Understanding the Situation
CPN emphasized that the evacuation was a misunderstanding, assuring the public that a thorough inspection of the mall concluded it was safe. The company stated, ‘The area is safe and operating as usual,’ while reaffirming its commitment to the safety of customers, tenants, and staff.

Normal Operations Resumed
Following the initial panic, CPN announced that all Central shopping malls across Thailand would resume normal operations on Saturday. The company stated, ‘We have conducted thorough inspections of our buildings and safety systems.’ CPN has designed these malls to meet engineering standards for customer safety.
Ongoing Inspections at Other Locations
While Central Ladprao has reopened, inspections are still underway at other locations including CentralWorld, Ladprao, Rama 9, Chaengwattana, Pinklao, and Marche. CPN has promised to provide updates on the reopening dates for these sites.
