A New Beginning for Health and Wellness
As we turn the page into a new year, many look to initiate changes in their lives, especially regarding health and wellness. Acknowledging this trend, a South Florida health coach has launched an innovative app named Cured to help users embark on their wellness journeys.
Meet Asha Walker
Asha Walker, a certified holistic health coach with over 11 years of experience, has dedicated her career to transforming underserved neighborhoods in South Florida through the establishment of urban vegetable gardens via her non-profit organization, Health in the Hood. Walker felt a compelling need to extend this accessibility to wellness.
“I felt like, you know, we do this amazing work in communities. We are building vegetable gardens and inspiring people to embrace healthy eating in their neighborhoods. I thought, why not expand this impact globally with an app that can reach more people?” she told NBC6.
About the Cured App
Cured offers more than 70 modules designed to encourage users to become their health coaches, focusing on habit formation across various aspects of wellness, including nutrition, movement, and longevity.
Walker stated, “We take a deep dive, whether it’s sleep hygiene or mobility or mindfulness or gut health. You’re not just checking a box with your 10,000 steps; you’re understanding how those steps benefit your body and uncovering the root causes of your personal imbalances.”
Finding Your Personal Wellness
In the age of social media, over-saturation of wellness trends often leads individuals to adopt health habits that may not align with their unique needs.
Walker points out, “We tend to look at broad health themes and try to fit ourselves into them, but really, it should be the other way around — personalizing our approach to health is crucial.”
Small Changes Lead to Big Impact
As many seek to revolutionize their wellness in the new year, Walker reiterates that change does not have to be drastic. She concluded, “It’s about making bite-size choices over time to achieve a sustainable healthy lifestyle.”
The Cured app was launched in October and has already garnered positive responses from users. It is available on the App Store for anyone looking to enhance their health journey.
