MV Isip: The Rise of a Creative Powerhouse in Video Production
Filmmaker and all-around creative MV Isip has carved a niche for herself in the world of video production. Known for her eclectic style and enthusiasm for mixed media, Isip’s journey from photography to filmmaking is nothing short of inspiring.
During a recent photoshoot, Isip sported heavily accessorized black Crocs, distressed denim shorts, and an oversized jersey from a popular clothing brand, embodying her brand of cool while sharing her story.
She dove into her past, recalling, ‘I was a mathlete, Scrabble varsity, the works. I was the furthest you can get from creative, but I’ve always been very curious, and the internet and computers were the things the geeky kids were figuring out then.’ This curiosity would later lead her to discover her passion for creative arts.
At the age of 10, Isip was handed her family camera and immediately enjoyed the freedom of creativity that came with it. ‘Around that time, I was following tutorials on DeviantArt, trying out HTML/CSS for my blogs, downloading Photoshop recipes from LiveJournal, like everyone else!’ Isip reflects on her earlier days and how they laid the foundation for her career.
Despite studying video production at Ateneo de Manila University, Isip initially shied away from pursuing a career in film, feeling the weight of the industry’s expectations. It wasn’t until she took on a behind-the-scenes gig for a fashion magazine that her path truly began.
Fast forward a decade, Isip is now a sought-after name in the creative sector, collaborating with various brands, magazines, and even celebrities. An agency representing recognized creatives, Artists & Company Manila, currently includes her in its roster.

In discussing her approach, Isip notes, ‘Experimentation is really my driving force! I just wanna try things…’ She continually pushes herself to explore new styles and methods, marking her unique edge in a competitive industry.
Her creative flair extends to her interests in music, literature, and even wrestling, claiming inspiration can arise from anywhere. ‘Cheesy answer, but I get video ideas from stuff I’ve watched, artwork in a museum, our house’s CCTV footage,’ she states, highlighting how life influences her work.
Looking Towards the Future
Reflecting on her experiences, Isip expressed her dedication to both learning and evolving in her field. ‘I love that [my job] is never the same, and that it pushes me to keep learning…’ As she navigates her creative journey, Isip is optimistic about the future and the possibilities it holds for innovative storytelling.
With dreams of taking her talents to international stages and possibly directing for a wrestling show, MV Isip remains a shining example of creativity and determination in the evolving world of film and media.
