As the world progresses, the need for community-oriented healthcare grows. This is the vision behind Mountainside Medical, which recently opened its doors in Stevensville, Montana, on October 23. Founded by Carson Gomez, a dedicated healthcare professional, and her husband Ignacio, this new practice focuses on adult and geriatric primary care while aiming to foster a close-knit relationship with each patient.
The couple’s journey began far from Stevensville. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Carson brings over a decade of experience in nursing, particularly in emergency care. However, upon relocating to Montana, her passion for healthcare met a pressing family need. ‘I didn’t want to raise my kids in Vegas,’ Carson stated, leading to their move.
Carson’s previous role with United Healthcare required extensive travel across the state for Medicare Advantage assessments. This lifestyle proved challenging for the family, prompting Carson’s commitment to opening her own practice. ‘It was hard on both me and the kids,’ she recalled. ‘God just really laid on my heart that I should open up my own primary care.’
Mountainside Medical offers various services beyond standard primary care. Patients can benefit from IV infusions, telehealth options, and lab services conducted in-house, significantly reducing the need for extensive travel.
Gomez, now a certified Adult and Geriatric Care Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, emphasizes a patient-first philosophy. ‘You are in control of your health,’ she affirms, identifying the importance of patient education over pressure to follow treatment protocols. ‘It’s their body and their choice.’
Mountainside Medical is located at the Headwaters Wellness building, 212 Main Street, Stevensville. Interested individuals can reach the clinic at (406) 303-9781 or visit www.mountainsidemedicalmt.com to schedule an appointment and meet their provider.
