Mercy Health Seeks Community Participation in Health Needs Assessment
January 8, 2025 – Mercy Health is reaching out to the community for input as part of its new Community Health Needs Assessment. This initiative aims to gather valuable feedback to continue providing quality health and wellness programming tailored to local needs.
The online survey, available at this link, invites residents to share their thoughts about local health resources, barriers to care, and overall community health trends. This assessment is an important part of establishing health priorities that directly impact community services.
Previously identified areas for improvement through community feedback have included significant issues such as:
- Infant Mortality
- Chronic Disease
- Behavioral and Mental Health
Mercy Health uses this assessment to inform the development of programs, including initiatives like community baby showers to educate mothers on safe sleep practices and healthy Halloween celebrations demonstrating that treats don’t always have to be sweet.
The collection of survey responses will occur until February 14, after which the community health plan for 2026-2029 will be formulated, ensuring continued focus on relevant health issues.
