KJLH Women’s Health Expo Celebrates 25 Years of Women’s Wellness in Long Beach

The KJLH Women’s Health Expo, a prominent event dedicated to women’s health and wellness, is returning to Long Beach this weekend to mark its 25th anniversary. Sponsored by the Black Infant Health Program, this event has become one of the largest health gatherings for women in Southern California.

Taking place on Saturday, May 31, at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, the expo is open to the public and free of charge. Doors open at 6 a.m., with a live broadcast from KJLH starting at 8 a.m. and an official event kickoff at 9 a.m.

Mayor Rex Richardson emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, ‘For 25 years, KJLH and the city of Long Beach have partnered to advance women’s wellness and empowerment.’ The event serves as a platform for hundreds of exhibitors showcasing health, wellness, beauty, and fitness products and services tailored to women and families.

Activities include an exercise zone, healthy dishes stage, wellness center, and free health screenings. Attendees of all ages can participate in engaging activities, with opportunities to win prizes and giveaways.

Councilmember Mary Zendejas highlighted the event’s significance, mentioning, ‘Every year, this event shines a light on the importance of women’s health and wellbeing, while also honoring the incredible work of programs like the Black Infant Health Long Beach.’

The Black Infant Health Program, under the city’s Department of Health and Human Services, focuses on addressing poor birth outcomes among Black women by promoting self-love and healthy living through group and individual services. Their efforts aim to improve survival rates and foster healthier futures.

This year, the program will host the BIH Pavilion—a cultural space featuring interactive game zones, wellness vendors, panels, and sessions on stress management and birth equity.

Community members interested in attending can register at the KJLH Women’s Health Expo registration page, although registration is not mandatory. For more details, visit kjlhradio.com/events.
