Hunterdon County Announces New Health and Wellness Programs for 2025
The health and wellness programs announced by Hunterdon County are set to begin in 2025, providing crucial support to the community.
Hosting these programs will be the Public Health Nursing facility located at 1 Walter Foran Boulevard in Flemington Borough. Hunterdon County officials emphasized that these initiatives aim to support the health and wellness of community members.
Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun Van Doren stated, ‘The launch of these programs reflects our commitment to maintaining and improving the strong health and wellness of our community.’ He continued, ‘We are happy that the Department of Health can offer a variety of opportunities that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.’
Notably, the programs will include a monthly ‘Brunch and Learn Program’ set for the third Friday of each month, with the exception of April’s session, which will be held on the second Friday. Seniors have the option to choose between sessions from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A four-part Nutrition Series, facilitated by the Nourish and Thrive Nutrition Center, is slated for the second Tuesday of each month from May through August, also occurring between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
These programs are offered free of charge and cater specifically to Hunterdon County residents with disabilities and seniors aged 60 and over.
The county will also provide blood pressure screenings and various health services aimed at fostering healthy behaviors and effective chronic disease management.
Van Doren reaffirmed the positive impact of these programs, stating, ‘These programs have and will continue to make a positive impact on our community’s health, by providing accessible and comprehensive resources that support our residents in their journey toward better health and wellness.’
Due to limited seating, registration is required for participation. Interested residents should reach out to the public health facility at 908-806-4570 for additional information and to register. More details are available on the Hunterdon County Department of Health website.
