Walking for Wellness

Making Healthy Choices

Making healthy choices is something we have the opportunity to do every day. The foods we eat and the exercises we choose significantly impact our health and quality of life. However, achieving a healthy balance can be challenging due to various commitments in life.

The Simplicity of Walking

The good news is that not all health-related decisions have to be complicated. For instance, simply walking for 30 minutes throughout the day can yield promising results. Walking can enhance heart health, strengthen lungs, improve sleep quality, and combat osteoporosis! Additionally, it boosts mood through the release of endorphins and lowers the risk of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Walk with Ease Program

If you’re interested in walking, the Walk with Ease (WWE) class may be ideal for you. This program assists individuals with arthritis or related conditions in reducing pain, increasing balance, strength, walking pace, and overall health. WWE is not only evidence-based but also enjoyable! Participants can walk, stretch, and socialize during each session.

What Does the Class Offer?

Walk with Ease provides pain management and physical activity education to individuals and families. The class includes an educational book covering various topics about walking and arthritis management, with a $20 registration fee that covers the book’s cost. The classes aim to help participants set realistic goals, maintain a long-term physical activity routine, and guide Kansans in finding resources to stay active.
