Dear editor,
After a yearlong endeavor of strength training with a personal trainer, I have reached a record deadlift of 185 lbs. at 73. My goal is to deadlift 200 lbs. by my 74th birthday this October.
At a time in history when even the president of the United States is forced out of office because of age discrimination, it is important to show the world that age should be respected for the strength and wisdom that one obtains in so many ways as we progress through life. My passion is to inspire the younger generations toward health and wellness in all areas of their lives.
Wellness Seminar Launch
That is why, on August 3, I’m launching my inaugural wellness seminar. The eight-week long series, “The Seven Obelisks of Health and Wellness,” runs Saturdays, August 3rd through September 21st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the South Side YMCA, 6330 S. Stony Island Avenue. It will cover the major benefits of nutrition, exercise, hydration, spirituality, emotional health, sleep, and self-love on preventing illness.
