Thailand’s Weather Forecast: Hot Conditions and Thunderstorms Ahead
The upper part of Thailand is set to experience hot to very hot weather this Friday, as announced by the Thai Meteorological Department. This heat wave is expected to be accompanied by isolated thundershowers and gusty winds.
The report attributes these weather conditions to a heat low-pressure system affecting the upper regions of Thailand. Additionally, the prevailing southwesterly and southerly winds are also contributing to isolated heavy rain in the lower Northeast and Eastern regions.
The department has advised the public to take care of their health given the extreme heat conditions. Adequate hydration and protection from sun exposure are emphasized.
Weather Conditions in Southern Thailand
In the southern part of Thailand, the interaction of southwesterly and southerly winds will likely lead to isolated thundershowers and heavy rain. The department has issued a warning for waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, predicting them to reach heights of about 1–2 meters. During thunderstorms, waves may exceed two meters, prompting all vessels in these waters to exercise caution.
Upcoming Weather Systems
From Saturday through Monday, a moderate high-pressure system from China is anticipated to extend over the Northeast and the South China Sea. This development may trigger summer storms, complete with thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail, and lightning strikes across various regions in upper Thailand.

A focus will be on maintaining high efficiency in water drainage systems and being ready to deploy machinery in high-risk areas.
The department emphasizes the importance of timely alerts and effective communication regarding the water situation, enabling communities in affected areas to prepare adequately for potential disturbances.
