Health & Wellness Family Fair to Take Place in White Salmon

White Salmon, Wash., April 16, 2025 — The second annual Health & Wellness Family Fair will be held at Rheingarten Park in White Salmon on May 16 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. This year, Skyline Health has expanded its offerings to include a wider array of local health and wellness businesses as well as summer activities for the youth.

Organizer Anna Henschel, Community Outreach Coordinator for Skyline Health, stated, ‘This event is free and open to all. The Fair has moved to Rheingarten Park following the White Salmon Valley School District’s Fun Run. The outdoor activities should make this event more engaging for kids and parents alike.’ She mentioned that if the weather permits, the new splash pad developed by the City of White Salmon will be open, and free food will be available for the first 200 participants.

Kristen McReath, Community Prevention & Wellness Initiative Director with WAGAP & K-Link, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, ‘I’m especially excited about this year’s comprehensive approach to family wellness.’ Over 20 community partners are registered to participate, highlighting resources available in both Klickitat and Skamania counties.

Henschel and McReath elaborated that the event aims to bring families together to explore various aspects of physical and mental health, wellness, and social determinants of health. Attendees will engage in interactive workshops, educational booths, and activities suitable for all ages. Parents will benefit from easy access to information on early childhood education, child development, affordable medical care programs, nutritional programs, youth sports, and summer camps.

Key topics such as healthy habits, mental health awareness, safety skills, and social supports—essential for overall well-being—will be emphasized. Local organizations and wellness experts will provide valuable resources while youth leaders will facilitate learning and discussions.

The organizers hope to inspire positive change for individuals and families. Their primary goals include fostering collaboration, providing practical tools for healthier living, and strengthening the community through shared knowledge and support.

Henschel noted, ‘We hope to see a great turnout this year. Thank you to all our sponsors and participating organizations working to make this a fun, family-oriented event that will benefit the entire community.’
