
Celebrating Health: National Public Health Week in Hilo
As National Public Health Week approaches, the County of Hawai‘i is teaming up with the State Department of Health to host a lively community event that aims to educate and inspire local residents. This annual celebration, which has been a tradition for the past 30 years, is set to take place on Friday outside the Hilo State Office Building, located at 75 Aupuni St.
Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., this event promises to offer a treasure trove of health resources, along with engaging activities presented by local health organizations and community partners. Mayor Kimo Alameda emphasized the significance of these gatherings, stating, ‘This is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the health services available, raise awareness about key public health issues, and inspire action toward a healthier future for our community.’
The event promises various engaging features, including giveaways and food trucks, which are sure to enhance the experience for all attendees.

Each day of National Public Health Week spotlights a different health theme, encouraging individuals to take proactive steps toward enhancing their community’s health. This year’s emphasis is on:
