Get Ready for a Free Community Health Fair!
Mark your calendars for a day of health and wellness! A free Community Health Fair will take place on Saturday, March 29, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church Community Life Center in Petersburg, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sponsored by the Area Health and Wellness Ministry, Petersburg Virginia Healthy Hearts Initiative, and Tabernacle Baptist Church Health Care Ministry, this event promises a wealth of resources to promote community health.
What to Expect at the Fair
- Information sessions covering themes like the new prescription drug law and heart health.
- A free diaper giveaway hosted by Urban Baby Beginnings.
- Health resources including mobile health vans, health screenings, and immunizations.
- Fun activities like face painting and a bounce house for kids.

Individuals can attend any or all of the following information sessions:
- 11 a.m. — Understanding the New Prescription Drug Law by Donald Barrow of Community Transformers, LLC
- Noon — Blue Zone Nutrition and Heart Health by Dr. Clifford Morris of Morris Cardiovascular and Risk Reduction Center
- 1 p.m. — Petersburg Healthy Hearts Initiative hosted by Zelda Tucker-Dugger, chair
Visitors can expect a diverse range of health amenities including the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center mobile unit, health screenings, COVID and flu vaccines, and even NARCAN training.
