Enhanced Access to Quality Care in Southwest Tarrant County
JPS Health Network is expanding access to high-quality care, providing services closer to home for the residents of Southwest Tarrant County. In February 2025, JPS inaugurated one of its Master Facility Plan projects, which aims to offer comprehensive health services in a patient-centered setting.
A Central Hub for Patient-Centered Care
The newly developed Medical Home Southwest Tarrant is designed as a centralized hub for a variety of health services, enhancing convenience, accessibility, and health outcomes by integrating multiple essential health services under one roof. “Medical Home Southwest Tarrant was established to improve access to care for our growing community in southwest Tarrant County,” said Dr. Karen Duncan, JPS President and CEO.
Comprehensive Services Under One Roof
Patients visiting Medical Home Southwest Tarrant can access primary care, behavioral health services, x-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory diagnostics. Notably, the facility includes a community education space for health and wellness programs, and on-site specialists in various disciplines such as cardiology, gastroenterology, and optometry. To further enhance convenience, a full-service drive-through pharmacy is also available.
The Importance of Integrating Care
Joseph Garrison, Practice Manager at Medical Home Southwest, highlighted the importance of integrating various health services by stating, “Being able to take care of a patient and address all of their needs such as lab tests, X-rays, medications, and primary care is essential. Our hope is to integrate behavioral health into primary care to provide preventive care and high-quality services that keep our patients healthy.”

The new facility not only aims to break down barriers to care but also seeks to foster strong patient-provider relationships. This sentiment was echoed by Theressa King, a long-time patient, who stated, “I have high blood pressure, and I am a diabetic. Dr. Kumar helps me with anything I need to maintain my health and well-being.” The importance of continuity in healthcare relationships is paramount for effective and personalized patient care.
