Grant Inniger: A Journey of Passion and Education
Grant Inniger, a 6th year transfer student from Barnesville, Minnesota, has always known that his path would lead him to become an educator. Growing up in a household rich with the influence of teaching, he has dedicated his academic career to physical education, a field that he describes as a passion ignited by role models throughout his early schooling.
The Allure of VCSU
Inniger chose Valley City State University (VCSU) because of the positive experiences shared by his grandfather, who attended the same institution. He emphasized, ‘I wanted to choose a place that was welcoming and had everything I needed to become a physical education teacher.’ His decision to join VCSU as a transfer student has proven to be a blessing filled with unforgettable connections.
Memorable Moments and Campus Life
Reflecting on his time at VCSU, he stated, ‘My favorite memory from VCSU is being around so many amazing people I now consider my closest friends.’ The opportunities for involvement have significantly enhanced his educational experience. As a member of the Golf team, SAAC Committee, and a student assistant for the women’s basketball team, he has been deeply engaged with campus life.
Advice for Future Students
For those considering VCSU, Inniger advises, ‘You are attending a university where you matter and you are going to meet the best people around the state of North Dakota.’ He believes the university’s supportive community, along with the involvement of professors and advisors, makes it an excellent choice for any student.
A Favorite Campus Spot
When asked about his favorite place at VCSU, Inniger did not hesitate: ‘My favorite spot is the Gaukler Family Wellness Center. I spent most of my time there with classes but it is also where I got to become physically active during my free time.’
As he prepares for graduation in 2024, Grant Inniger looks ahead with optimism and determination to make a difference in the field of physical education.
