Bulloch County Schools Prioritizes Employee Well-being

Bulloch County Schools is dedicated to the well-being of its staff and will celebrate this commitment by hosting its Third Annual Benefits & Wellness Fair on March 10. The event, set to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mattie Lively Elementary School, will serve more than 2,400 employees, the majority of whom are looking for ways to improve their personal health and wellness.

Scheduled on a student holiday during an in-service day for district personnel, the fair provides a unique opportunity for teachers and staff to access vital wellness resources and connect with community vendors committed to supporting public education employees.

Alli Baxter, chief human resources officer for Bulloch County Schools, stated, ‘Our employees are the heart of our school system, dedicating their careers to shaping the future of our community’s children. This event is one way we can give back to them, supporting their health, growth, and overall well-being so they can continue making a difference in students’ lives.’

More than 40 vendors will be present at this year’s fair, offering insights and services across various wellness aspects, including financial, psychological, social, spiritual, occupational, and physical health. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in on-site screenings, enjoy giveaways, and even receive vendor-sponsored gift cards, complemented by a free catered lunch.

As the second-largest employer in Bulloch County, the school district emphasizes the importance of a supportive workplace culture. The district provides a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, alongside wellness incentives to assist employees in managing their health.

Moreover, recognizing mental health support as a priority, employees and their dependents can access a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) covering consultations in various areas such as legal and financial guidance. Annual health screenings and vaccinations are also provided, further supporting the health of our educators.

Bulloch County Schools believes that by investing in happy, healthy employees, the district can enhance the quality of education provided to the community’s children. For those interested in joining the educational team, career opportunities can be explored at www.bullochschools.org/jobs.
