ALPENA — Bella Rose Wellness Center, a woman-owned business located in the heart of Alpena, is proudly celebrating its tenth anniversary. Founded in 2015 by Dr. Jessica Bruning, the wellness center has established itself as a cornerstone of health and beauty services in the community.
Initially located at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Oldfield Street, Bella Rose has since moved to a more central location on 2nd Avenue, nestled among popular local businesses such as Traveling Ladders and Parallel 45 Books. This strategic move has increased visibility and accessibility for clients.
The wellness center offers a comprehensive range of services including waxing, facials, fillers, and advanced skin treatments like intense-pulsed light (IPL) therapy, which targets dark and age spots as well as other skin imperfections. According to Cait Sorensen, the office manager, “We provide our clients with an oasis for self-care and wellness, encouraging them to explore all our options.”
Dr. Bruning shared her passion for wellness, stating, ‘I’ve always been into the wellness industry. When I started my career, I had a vision of creating a space where every client feels special and taken care of.’ Over the years, she has grown the business from a solo endeavor to a thriving center supported by a dedicated team.
The staff at Bella Rose emphasize the importance of every client, regardless of their spending. Sorensen reiterated, ‘Our patients are special… it doesn’t matter if they are spending $65 or $6,500; they are all treated like VIPs.’ This philosophy is key in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
In addition to traditional beauty services, Bella Rose Wellness Center also provides hormone replacement therapy through personalized assessments. With a focus on client relationships, Ollie Matney, a receptionist at Bella Rose, remarked, ‘The connection we build with our clients turns them into family; we pride ourselves on being an open book.’

The dedication to providing high-quality services is evident, as the team creates a unique experience tailored to individual client needs.
