Beauty and Health Initiative Empowers Women in Midfield

MIDFIELD, Ala. (WBRC) – Beauty and health professionals united to enhance the wellbeing of women in Midfield this Saturday. The event was hosted at Frostings Full-Service Salon, where health advocates provided valuable advice and various services to attendees.

The initiative, part of the ‘Risk Less. Do More.’ campaign, is designed to cater specifically to women of color, offering an array of health services free of charge.

Free Health Services for Women

Participants were given free coronavirus testing kits and access to vaccinations for RSV, COVID-19, and flu, just in time for the Christmas holiday. This event reflects a broader partnership between the ‘Risk Less. Do More.’ campaign and the Black Beauty and Wellness Foundation, aiming to create awareness and provide services in beauty and health across southern cities, including previous events held in New Orleans and Greensboro, North Carolina.

Conclusion

The collaborative efforts of beauty and health professionals in Midfield not only uplifted the community but also served as a significant step toward empowering women through accessible health resources and education.
