Bay FC Kicks Off Home Opener with Hospital Visit
Ahead of their Home Opener, Bay Football Club (Bay FC) players including Racheal Kundananji, Taylor Huff, Jamie Shepherd, and Maddie Moreau made a visit to patients at Sutter’s Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame on Tuesday, March 18th. The visit was part of a celebration for Women’s Empowerment Month.
Spreading Joy Through Compassionate Engagement
The players presented 2025 kits and autographed mini balls to new mothers and orthopedic patients, offering a heartwarming contrast of sports and healthcare. They interacted with patients, sharing stories about their own journeys and finding common ground through personal experiences.
Kundananji expressed a special moment, saying, ‘I had a lot of fun meeting a newborn. It was my first time meeting a baby who was born 24 hours ago. Seeing the proud smiles from their mothers and fathers was so fun.’
Connecting with Patients
Moreau shared her admiration for the visit, stating, ‘It was really nice being able to meet the doctors, nurses, and patients. Their excitement to see us made me feel great.’ Talking to patients strengthened the bond between the players and the community.
Making An Impact Beyond the Field
The players reflected on the importance of community involvement. Huff mentioned, ‘It’s so important to know the impact that we have on the Bay Area and I’m proud we’re able to give back in that way.’ This sentiment was echoed by many within the Bay FC organization, highlighting the club’s commitment to community well-being.
Looking Forward to the Home Opener
As the Home Opener approaches, the players are excited about the support from Sutter Health and the community.
