New Wellness Facility Opens in Aurora: Denver Village Offers Unique Support for Life’s Transitions

A new wellness facility dedicated to helping people navigate the transitional periods of their life is now open in Aurora.

The Denver Village, located at 2513 Elmira St., is hosting a variety of wellness and fitness options designed to assist individuals through challenging phases. The center officially opened last month and has quickly become a resource for holistic health services.

Among its offerings are yoga classes focused on pre and postnatal practices, an apothecary, lactation support groups, reiki, pelvic floor therapy, and other specialized wellness treatments.

Denver has a long-standing reputation as a hub for innovative wellness practices. The city’s diverse options include sound baths, forest bathing, beer-soaked spas, and various breathwork classes, reflecting its history as a prominent health destination. Historically, Denver’s dry climate and high altitude were believed to aid respiratory illnesses such as tuberculosis, as documented by Denverhealth.org. Today, Denver continues to lead in pioneering new health initiatives.

“We’re trying to help people who are seeking more connection and more support,” said Meredith Cole, the founder of Denver Village.

Cole emphasized the center’s focus on supporting mothers, noting that many of the classes are tailored for pregnant women and postpartum mothers. She shared that her inspiration came from her personal experience during the pandemic, when she lacked support after giving birth to her second child. “It was the beginning of the pandemic, and I did not have any support, and it just felt much more overwhelming,” Cole explained.

She recalled how beneficial pre and postnatal yoga was for her after her first child’s birth, inspiring her to create a space where the community could access similar support. A few years later, she launched Denver Village to provide ‘full 360-degree support’ for individuals at any stage.

The wellness industry has seen a significant surge in popularity, aided by social media trends. Globally, the wellness sector is valued at around $2 trillion, according to the Global Wellness Institute. In social media spaces like TikTok, wellness practices such as coconut oil mouth swishing and lymphatic drainage using vibrating plates have gained popularity, showcasing how body care has become a cultural identifier.

However, Cole hopes that Denver Village will offer something more meaningful through its holistic and supportive approach. “I think when someone is struggling, it’s never a simple one-source answer. Maybe yoga helps calm their mind, but maybe they also need physical therapy to physically help with their body,” she said.

The Denver Village is now accepting bookings through its website, inviting people to explore its array of health and wellness services and classes designed to promote overall well-being.
