Health and Wellness Services at the Student Health Center

The University of Nevada, Reno is committed to supporting its students’ health and wellbeing through various programs and services. The Student Health Center offers free safe sex supplies to promote safe practices and prevent unwanted pregnancies and STIs. These supplies include external lubricated condoms with latex-free options, available for pick-up during clinic hours, with staff adhering to strict safety measures.

Peer Health Educator Program

The university also operates a Peer Health Educator program, inviting students to become trained advocates on health issues such as sexual health, mental health, substance abuse, and more. This volunteer role aims to harness peer influence positively, providing accurate information via social media, campus events, and workshops. Candidates are expected to attend training and commit to a set number of hours each semester.

Interested students can apply online and should be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct. The program fosters leadership and offers valuable experience in program planning, health promotion, and community engagement, all aimed at creating a healthier campus.
