Central Carolina Hospital’s Commitment to Community Well-Being in 2024
Central Carolina Hospital (CCH) recently released its annual community benefit report for 2024, emphasizing its ongoing efforts to support the health and economic vitality of Sanford and Lee County. The report highlights the hospital’s strategic initiatives, investments, and community programs aimed at making the region healthier and more prosperous.
Investments in Healthcare Infrastructure and Human Resources
According to the report, CCH has added 68 new healthcare providers across various specialties, including cardiology, OB/GYN, and emergency medicine. The hospital has also invested nearly $5.2 million in capital improvements, updating vital equipment such as ultrasound units, X-ray machines, and a new cath lab injector and control center.
Expanding Access and Supporting Vulnerable Populations
Demonstrating its commitment to equitable healthcare, CCH donated over $31 million in health services to those in need. This initiative ensures that even those with limited financial means have access to essential medical care.
Supporting Employees and Community Engagement
In 2024, the hospital disbursed over $39 million in salaries and benefits to its approximately 510 staff members. Additionally, more than $62,000 was allocated for professional development and tuition assistance, fostering a motivated and skilled workforce.
Community Involvement and Local Support
Beyond its direct healthcare services, CCH contributed over $9.5 million in taxes to local and state governments and supported numerous local organizations, including Central Carolina Community College Foundation and the Sanford Farmers’ Market. These efforts reinforce the hospital’s integral role in regional development.
