Weekend Events Impacting Bryan-College Station: Traffic, Festivals, and Community Gatherings

This weekend in Bryan-College Station promises a vibrant array of activities and events that will attract many residents and visitors alike. From the annual 5-K Run and Walk organized by the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce to the popular Wine and Roses Festival at Messina Hof Winery, there is something for everyone.

The 5-K Run and Walk scheduled for Saturday morning will feature around 200 participants, with the race starting and ending at the Palace Theater. Carrie Archer from the Chamber encourages everyone, whether walking or running, to join in and enjoy a healthy activity with family, friends, or coworkers. To accommodate the event, several roads from Main Street to North Bryan Avenue between 22nd and 28th streets will be temporarily closed from about 6:30 to 10 a.m.

Further, the Wine and Roses Festival will take place at Messina Hof Winery, with over 1,000 RSVP’d attendees expected. Visitors can enjoy sampling Texas wines, participating in grape stomping contests, and engaging in wine tastings and classes throughout Saturday.

Aside from these festivities, the 41st annual MS-150 bike race on Sunday will see over 5,000 cyclists at start points across the area, with the race culminating at Kyle Field. This event will temporarily impact traffic and road access in the area.

Another notable event is the Spring Parade of Homes by the Greater Brazos Valley Builders Association, allowing visitors to tour 43 homes across the Brazos Valley over the weekend. Naturally, this will likely lead to increased slow driving and neighborhood visits.

Residents and visitors are advised to plan ahead, as the schedule of events may extend travel times in the area. Nonetheless, these activities provide excellent opportunities for community engagement and enjoyment of what Bryan-College Station has to offer.

Enjoy a weekend full of fun, fitness, flavors, and community spirit!
