Harmonizing Wellness in San Francisco
Alchemy Springs is emerging as San Francisco’s local hot spot for thermal wellness. This summer, the club will complete construction on its flagship site, creating an innovative indoor-outdoor thermal wellness experience designed to enhance community connection.
Preview of a Groundbreaking Concept
Initially operating as the “Sauna Garden” since May, Alchemy Springs’ CEO, Anne Cannady, described this phase as a ‘preview’—an opportunity to “walk the talk on building community.” The site boasts the largest-known freestanding sauna in the US and features an outdoor garden with cold plunges.
The venture has shown robust growth, with traffic increasing by 20% month over month and revenue soaring by 236%. The club has become a hub for various events, including run clubs and startup launch parties, even hosting official after-parties for major events like Dreamforce.
Expansion Plans on the Horizon
With the new buildout, Alchemy Springs plans to triple its capacity by introducing a second communal sauna that can reach temperatures of up to 200℉, along with steam rooms, in-ground soaking pools, and a lush greenhouse filled with plants and a tea lounge.
The design incorporates modern infrared heating components, creating a “warm glow” atmosphere for relaxation and stretching, with no time limits on visitors’ stays. Cannady expressed ambitions for future growth, aiming to open ten locations over the next decade.
A Collaborative Approach for Cultural Transformation
In a step towards transforming wellness culture, Alchemy Springs is forming alliances with other operators to promote social thermal bathing as an integral part of American life. Players in the industry are convening to create momentum in the wellness space.
A New Era of Community Wellness
Through innovative modern practices while honoring traditional rituals, Alchemy Springs and similar establishments are redefining community wellness and fostering deeper connections among patrons.
