The Victoria Foundation Launches the 2025 Vital Signs Survey

The Victoria Foundation has officially launched its 2025 Vital Signs survey, celebrating twenty years of providing a vital check-up on the quality of life within the Greater Victoria area. This annual survey serves as a community barometer, allowing residents to share their views on numerous aspects of living in the region.

What Residents Can Expect

Open to all inhabitants of Greater Victoria, the survey seeks feedback on twelve pivotal categories, such as housing, safety, health and wellness, and community engagement. Participants have the option to complete either a short or long version of the survey, with all entries entered into a draw for gift cards.

A Look Back at Last Year’s Results

In the previous year’s report, the city achieved its highest score in sports and recreation, receiving a B+, while the housing sector was notably marked down with a D-.

The Importance of Civic Engagement

This year’s theme, ‘Your Voice. Your Victoria!’, underscores the significance of civic engagement and highlights how public insights contribute to shaping the region’s future. Sandra Richardson, CEO of the Victoria Foundation, commented on the impact of the survey:

‘For 20 years, Vital Signs has served as an important and influential report card on the health and well-being of our region. Each year, it’s used by sector leaders, decision-makers, and the public alike to help steer the future of our community.’

The Role of Community Voices

Richardson also mentioned the complexities facing the region:

‘Our region faces complex, interconnected challenges, and through the collective voices of our community, we can continue identifying and coordinating solutions that will carry us well beyond the next 20 years.’

The 2025 survey is accessible until May 30, and interested residents can participate through the Victoria Foundation’s website.
