Financial Assistance for Earthquake Recovery
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, homeowners in Thailand affected by this natural disaster can seek financial assistance. According to Bangkok MP Suphanat Minchaiynunt, eligible homeowners may apply for reimbursement of up to 49,500 baht to help cover property repair costs.
The reimbursement initiative is being facilitated by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) under the Interior Ministry, assisting residents in their recovery efforts.
Earthquake Impact
The quake, which registered an 8.2-magnitude, was centered in Mandalay, Myanmar, and caused significant structural damage across northern and central Thailand, particularly affecting various districts in Bangkok.
Eligibility Criteria
In a recent Facebook update, MP Suphanat announced that the reimbursement program is available to residents of Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, and specific locations in Pathum Thani, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Phrae, and Phichit provinces.
Application Process
Eligible individuals are encouraged to apply for this financial aid, which is designed to assist in repairing private homes and condominium units affected by the earthquake. Importantly, repairs to communal properties are not included in this reimbursement plan.
MP Suphanat reassured residents with existing insurance coverage that they are still welcome to apply for this support.
For further information, homeowners are advised to stay updated through official government channels and their respective local authorities.
