
LAWTON, Okla. – The middle of the week brings exciting opportunities for community members in Lawton, Oklahoma. Two significant events aim to provide essential resources and wellness checks for residents, particularly veterans and their families.
Cameron University Veterans Fair
Starting today, Cameron University is hosting a resource fair specifically designed for veterans, active-duty service members, and their dependents. This event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, providing attendees access to various organizations that support military personnel and their families.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with over 20 federal, state, and local organizations, receiving critical information about the PACT Act, which significantly impacts veterans’ healthcare and benefits.
Community Checkup on Wheels
In addition to the Veterans Fair, residents are invited to participate in a Mobile Wellness Unit initiative by the Southwest Oklahoma County Health Departments. The event will take place today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Owens Center in Lawton.
These wellness checks are offered free of charge and will include services such as adult and child wellness checks, sports physicals, immunizations, and family planning options. For more information, residents are encouraged to call (580) 704-9372.
Cricut Basics Workshop
For those interested in unleashing their creativity, the Lawton Public Library is hosting a ‘Cricut Basics: Tote Bags’ workshop from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants will learn to design their tote bags using a Cricut machine, which cuts stickers and vinyl decorations.
