Seniors in Rapid City Enjoy New Health Opportunities
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – For senior citizens in the Rapid City area, accessing essential health screenings is about to become much simpler thanks to an open house organized by Monument Health.
Scheduled for April 4 from 1-3 p.m., this event is designed to provide seniors with the necessary resources to stay healthy while also offering opportunities to establish care with a new doctor.
With the complexities of Medicare wellness checks and other health procedures, it can often feel overwhelming for seniors to manage their health. Dr. Kierstin Bradley, a family practice physician at Monument Health, explained the significance of this upcoming event.
‘At our upcoming open house, we’re going to be offering some health screenings,’ Dr. Bradley noted. ‘We’ll be doing blood pressure checks, depression checks, and screenings for pre-diabetes. If you feel like you haven’t seen a doctor in a while, now’s a perfect time to get established with one.’
Dr. Bradley also emphasized the importance of staying current with health guidelines, assuring that Monument Health remains at the forefront of providing appropriate health screenings and care.
‘At Family Medicine, we definitely keep up with guideline changes and screenings,’ she added. ‘We want to ensure that you’re scheduled for the necessary checks, like blood pressure and colonoscopy screenings, so you can stay at your healthiest.’
She advocates for seniors to prioritize annual visits to track any changes in their health, highlighting the need for regular check-ups in maintaining overall wellness.
