LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The DISCOVERY Children’s Museum partnered with Intermountain Children’s Health to celebrate National Doctors Day by hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic on Sunday. This engaging event gave children the opportunity to step into the roles of healthcare providers, complete with hands-on activities.
During the event, kids were encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animals or receive a complimentary teddy bear, which was available to the first 400 attendees. With activities like checkups, X-rays, bandaging, and lessons on dental health, the Teddy Bear Clinic aimed to demystify medical procedures and foster a healthier awareness among young participants.
“The interactive experience helps to alleviate fears related to medical environments,” a spokesperson from the museum explained. “Children learn what to expect during doctor visits, which can reduce anxiety in real-life situations.”
Healthcare professionals guided the children as they explored topics like medicine, dental hygiene, and basic medical skills such as height and weight checks. The event was not only fun but also pivotal in promoting health and wellness through imaginative play.
