Hamilton Township Achieves Healthy Town Gold Level for Third Year

Hamilton Township is thrilled to announce its recognition as a Healthy Town Gold Level by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute through the Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) for the third consecutive year. This accolade places Hamilton among a select group of towns in New Jersey dedicated to enhancing community health and wellness.

The Mayors Wellness Campaign serves as a statewide initiative aimed at improving health across communities. It provides a framework and evidence-based resources for wellness initiatives through valuable public-private partnerships.

Since recommitting to the MWC in 2022, Mayor Jeff Martin and the Hamilton Township Mayor’s Wellness Campaign Committee have taken significant steps to elevate the health standards for residents by organizing various health-focused programs.

Expanded Health Initiatives in 2024

Looking ahead, Hamilton Township has broadened its public health initiatives in 2024 by collaborating with the Health and Recreation Departments along with local organizations. The township continues to provide essential services such as free health screenings, mental health awareness programs, and substance abuse prevention initiatives. Key programs include:

• Walks with the Mayor – A program designed to promote community engagement and physical fitness.
• International Overdose Awareness Day – An event dedicated to educating the public on substance use prevention and recovery resources.
• Nutrition & Food Security Programs – Initiatives to combat food insecurity through expanded partnerships and meal distribution services.
• Youth and Senior Wellness Activities – Programs aimed at enhancing the physical and mental health of residents across all age groups.
