Top Golfers Ready for Season-Opening Championship in Thailand
Ahead of the season-opening event, six esteemed golfers gathered for the official Players’ Press Conference, expressing enthusiasm for the prestigious Blue Canyon Ladies Championship 2025.
Lee Ye Won, the defending champion, shared her excitement about returning to Thailand. She emphasized the improvements she made during the offseason and her recent confidence boost from competing in Taiwan and Saudi Arabia.
Fellow competitor Kim Jae-Hee, currently ranked 26th on the KLPGA, looks to kick off the season strongly, recalling her first title win in Singapore last year and aiming to replicate that success in Thailand.
As for Park Sung-Hyun, a former world No. 1 now on the KLPGA Tour, she acknowledged her ongoing journey to regain confidence, highlighting her focus on mental strength over technical adjustments.

Hosts Thailand are also well represented. Chanettee Wannasaen, a two-time LPGA Tour winner, makes her debut at Blue Canyon, noting that while the narrow fairways present a challenge, she aims to concentrate on her performance rather than set lofty expectations.
Arpichaya Yubol, ranked 91st globally, mentioned feeling some fatigue from a busy schedule but remains determined to improve on last year’s results.
Meanwhile, Kiratthiya Fujaree, competing on the Epson Tour in the US, is set to leverage this tournament to build momentum before returning overseas, with a strategy that she considers crucial on the demanding course.
The championship marks its second consecutive year being held in Thailand, with a prize fund now raised to US$800,000 (THB27.65 million), out of which the champion will receive US$144,000 (THB4.88 million).
The tournament will comprise 72 holes of stroke play, featuring a cut after 36 holes, allowing the top 60 and ties to progress to the final rounds. The field will consist of 120 players, including 80 KLPGA Order of Merit players, alongside sponsor invites and National Qualifying Round qualifiers, with 21 Thai athletes participating.

The tournament will be held at the renowned Canyon Course, awarded Thailand’s Best Golf Course 2024 by the World Golf Awards, promising a high-level competition among Korea’s top players and Thailand’s rising stars.
