OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon Launches First Responders Heroes Challenge
The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon has announced an exciting collaboration with HAAS Alert to introduce the First Responders Heroes Challenge. This initiative will take place during the 2025 OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon and Columbus Promise 5K, set for April 26 in downtown Columbus.
The Challenge aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among first responders while fostering community engagement. Race Director David Babner expressed his enthusiasm, stating, ‘We are excited to announce this Challenge to celebrate and promote First Responders’ health and wellness in the community.’ He also mentioned the gratitude felt towards first responders for their ongoing support during running and walking events.
Columbus’ Public Safety Director, Kate Pishotti, emphasized the significance of the event, noting, ‘Our First Responders — police, fire and 911 — proudly serve this community every day. Their physical and mental wellness is a top priority for the City of Columbus.’ She expressed her excitement for the recognition of first responders’ service through the Heroes Challenge.
HAAS Alert’s CEO, Cory Hohs, added, ‘We are proud to partner with OhioHealth Capital City for a great cause and to promote first responder health and wellness, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of looking out for first responders on our roadways.’
