Jefferson County Wellness Challenge Encourages Community Fitness
Fifty-seven participants completed February’s 28-mile walking challenge presented by the Jefferson County General Health District (JCGHD) and the YMCA Wellness Center at St. John Arena. The JCGHD stated the Walking into Wellness program was ‘one of the best attended fitness events that the JCGHD has hosted in recent years.’ This initiative emphasizes that walking is suitable for all fitness levels and permits participants to walk during the YMCA’s normal operating hours.
During a drawing held on February 28, participants received prizes donated by Edward Jones Financial Adviser Paul D. Sweeney II and Jefferson County Board of Health member Suzanne Brown. With prizes were Edward Jones employees Danielle Twigg-Kimmerle and Cassie Florczak, alongside Health Commissioner Andrew Henry.
