Walmart Promotes Community Health with a Wellness Day
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – In an effort to kick off the new year with a focus on health, Walmart in Charlottesville organized its first wellness day of 2025 on Saturday, January 11. The event invited community members to take advantage of health screenings and vaccination opportunities right within the store.
According to Cody Vandervort, the Pharmacy Manager at Walmart, the wellness day serves a significant purpose. ‘I think wellness day is important overall for patient health,’ he stated. ‘We offered a great opportunity for the patients who don’t get to their doctor as often as they might like to, and just to check in on their health changes throughout the year in between doctors’ visits.’
With a growing need for accessibility in health services, such initiatives by local retailers aim to bridge the gap for individuals who may not have regular access to healthcare providers.
