Health & Wellness Fair to Kickstart New Year Resolutions

Kickstart Your New Year Resolutions

Are any of your New Year’s resolutions related to health or fitness? Then mark your calendars for the Health & Wellness Fair, sponsored by the Board of Health, on Saturday, January 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jacobi Community Center.

Expect to meet twenty-nine premier wellness-related businesses from Marblehead, offering a range of programs focused on health and fitness. Moreover, for every resident who attends, there’s a chance to win various raffle prizes, including Bruins tickets and free classes.

Understanding the Motivation Behind the Fair

Tom McMahon, a member of the Board of Health, emphasizes the importance of the event by stating, ‘Physical and mental health trends are heading in the wrong direction, and the consequences are massive.’ He adds, ‘Many people don’t realize how many options there are in our Marblehead community to seek help or help themselves.’

Diverse Services for Every Resident

McMahon noted that the variety of options at the fair is significant. ‘The goal of this event is simple: to connect residents with local vendors who specialize in health and wellness, helping them improve their lives by opening doors they didn’t know existed.’

Expert Guidance and Engagement

Also participating is Kim Crowley, owner of Lighthouse Fitness and fitness instructor at the Council on Aging. She expresses, ‘When bodies move, great things happen. We can prevent cardiovascular disease, improve sleep, control stress, and positively affect our physical and mental state.’

Designed to cater to all ages, the Health & Wellness Fair aspires to become an annual event, serving as a gathering place for community support in health.
