Free Wellness Workshops and Classes Coming to Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo Parks & Recreation, in collaboration with Amarillo Public Health, is excited to announce a series of free classes and workshops aimed at encouraging community wellness and personal growth, starting January 10, 2025.
Workshop Schedule:
- Review and Renew | Jan. 10 | 6 p.m.-8 p.m. | Ages 18+ Participants will reflect on 2024 through various creative expressions, designing a positive outlook for 2025.
- Plant Propagation & Hydroponics | Jan. 25 | 3 p.m.-5 p.m. | Ages 12+ Learn the technique of growing plants without soil and take home your own planted project.
- The Art of Self-Love | Feb. 7 | 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. | Ages 12+ This mental health workshop focuses on self-acceptance and nurturing oneself.
- Botanical Wreath Crafting Class | Feb. 22 | 3 p.m.-5 p.m. | Ages 12+ Participants will craft beautiful, living wreaths to take home.
- 6-Week Gardening Class | Feb. 24-Mar. 31 | 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. | Ages 12+ Dive into the basics of gardening every Monday evening.
- Eggs, Eggs, & More Eggs | Apr. 12 | 3 p.m.-5 p.m. | Ages 12+ Learn creative recipes for those leftover Easter eggs!
To attend the “Review and Renew” workshop, participants must be aged 18 and up. Interested individuals can register by contacting the Amarillo Parks and Recreation front desk at Warford Activity Center at (806) 803-9785.
