Hadassah Elite Residency Program in Focus
Located on the 10th floor of Hadassah Medical Organization, the newly renovated Hadassah Elite Residency and Training Center is set to redefine medical education in Israel. With the establishment of this innovative training program, Hadassah aims to provide comprehensive support for its residents, ensuring high quality in medical practice and research.
According to Prof. Arie Ben-Yehuda, the director of the Internal Medicine C department and the chair of the new program, the initiative aims to transform the residency experience into one that is both innovative and experiential. ‘We have taken upon ourselves the mission of making learning innovative and experiential and turning Hadassah’s residency programs into the best in Israel,’ he states.
Ben-Yehuda emphasizes the importance of long-term mentorship and guidance for residents, stating, ‘A leading medical center is always a reflection of the quality of its human resources, and therefore we see residents as a valuable asset.’
The center, which accepts 107 residents annually, implements a model based on Competency-Based Medical Education. This approach allows for a personalized learning experience, focusing on practical results and ongoing assessments of progress. Residents will engage in various simulations, advanced technological literacy, and even language studies in Arabic and English.
Dr. Shiri Tenenbaum, the director of Hadassah Elite, adds that the program provides a generous research grant and personalized guidance for each resident. ‘We provide comprehensive support, including a generous research grant, professional mentorship, and personalized guidance for each resident,’ she says.
Future of Medical Training
With the establishment of the Nativ program, Hadassah is taking further steps to enhance residency training. This program will provide five outstanding medical residents with a grant of NIS 500,000, alongside extensive support over a decade. As Prof. Dina Ben-Yehuda, head of Hadassah’s hematology division, articulates, ‘Excellence in medicine and research goes far beyond being a slogan.’
The Hadassah Elite program aims not only to provide exceptional medical training but also to contribute significantly to the healthcare system in Israel, shaping the future of healthcare professionals in the region.
