Thailand’s Growth Journey at a Crossroads

In a pivotal address at the Bangkok Post Forum 2024, Prime Minister Paetongtarn emphasized the need for Thailand to shift its growth strategies, which have historically focused on mass production and heavy industries. She noted that these methods are now posing challenges in the face of rapid globalization.

“Thailand stands at a crossroads. We must pursue bold, innovative solutions that reflect our unique strengths and set us apart,” she remarked, underscoring the importance of originality in fostering growth.

According to the Prime Minister, Thailand’s unique strengths include its strategic geographic location, abundant natural resources, and the creativity of its people. She stated, “Our potential lies not in following the paths of others but in leveraging what makes us truly exceptional.”
